The confetti of goodwill and tributes have continued to drop on the publisher and editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE online newspaper, Sufuyan Ojeifo, who celebrated his 58th birthday on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, this time round from a retired judge in Edo State, Hon. Justice Roland Amaize, a former Director of Information and Press at NAFDAC, Abubakar Jimoh, PhD and publisher of Development Monitor magazine, Pastor Peter O. Emuekpere.

Justice Amaize, who described Ojeifo as a thoroughbred and consummate journalist, had his position shared by Dr Jimoh. Jimoh agreed that Ojeifo is a thoroughbred and added “quintessential” to reinforce his depiction

Read Justice Amaize’s intervention, entitled “To the thoroughbred and consummate Journalist, Sufuyan Ojeifo”: “I’m not unmindful of the fact that not a few eminent persons have raised their voices to felicitate you on your 58th birthday. This being the case, I reckon that mine, within those lots, runs the risk of being drowned, with the concomitant effects of being silenced and accordingly unheard.

“All the same, I have chosen to rise and be counted among those whose voices must be heard on this occasion. Consequently, on this auspicious and unique occasion of your 58th birthday, and in recognition of your great exploits in your chosen career, I wish you God’s continuous guidance, protection and direction now and beyond. May the reason for this occasion metamorphose from the intangible to the tangible and abide in your home like the Crown of Christ. Congratulations!”

From Dr Abubakar Jimoh’s prolific mind come the following beautiful lines, entitled: “Congratulation message to a quintessential and thoroughbred journalist”: “I join other friends, well-meaning Nigerians and professional colleagues to wholeheartedly congratulate you on your 58th birthday. Your track records of achievements, successes and imprints as a quintessential, thoroughbred and consummate journalist, publisher, public relations guru, puritanical activist and reformist are worthy of emulation and celebration. Your towering image, social and political networks surpass that of an octogenarian. I rejoice with you and wish you continuous good health, long life and prosperity. Happy birthday my dear brother.”

May God continue to keep and watch over you as you navigate the murky waters of journalism in Nigeria. May your pen (ink) never go dry as you continue to age gracefully. Enjoy your new age.”
