The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum has berated the Governor of Delta state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for accepting his nomination as vice presidential candidate to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The forum in a statement signed by elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, Afenifere leader, Ayo Adebanjo and the president general Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor, criticized Okowa of betraying the trust reposed on him by his colleagues, the southern governors, and the good people of southern Nigeria.
The group ssid it rejected Governor Okowa and his vice presidency, and letting the world know that it is a betrayal of the highest order.
They however described the governor’s acceptance as a greedy and unpatriotic action, rather than the claim of loyalty to his party.
