Auwalu Musa Daura, son of former DSS Director-General Lawal Daura, has rejected the outcome of the direct primary election that produced Yusuf, son of the late former president, Muhammadu Buhari, as winner, alleging irregularities in the process
He claimed many of those counted were not registered APC members and lacked valid membership cards, and described the counting process as questionable.
Daura said he contested to uphold justice, fairness and internal democracy in the party, and urged transparent processes to maintain members’ confidence.
Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, won the All Progressives Congress primary for Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency.
Chairman of the constituency primary committee Lawal Garba announced the result in Daura on Saturday, saying Buhari secured 17,342 votes against 480 votes for his opponent, Auwalu Musa Daura. Garba declared Buhari the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 elections.
Buhari thanked party members for their support and pledged to work with all stakeholders to ensure APC victory in the polls. He called for unity within the constituency.
