The House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources has expressed concerns over the slow completion of various dams spread across the country despite being adequately provided for in the 2020 Budget.

At the budget defence session of the Committee on Monday, Chairman of the panel, Rep. Sada Soli Jibia, who voiced the committees’ concerns, called for a round table meeting between the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the Committee to ensure better implementation and delivery of projects in the 2021 budget, with implementable/verifiable timeline.

Speaking on the session, the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, explained that most of the projects were at advanced stages of completion and that it was the COVID-19 pandemic that slowed down their progress.
