Wife of former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, has opened up on her public spat with a former Nigerian Ambassador and wife ot the late Biafran warlord, Odimegwu Ojukwu, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu.
There had been ben a dramatic exchange of negative energies between the women last Thursday at the inauguration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as the governor of Anambra State.
Obiano’s wife, Ebelechukwu, and Mrs Ojukwu had engaged in a public fight at the event.
The incident occurred immediately after Soludo took his oath of office.
There was an exchange of words between the duo which led to Bianca slapping the ex-governor’s wife.
Mrs Obiano, who spoke on the public spat in a statement by her spokesperson, Chidiebele Obika, said she had left her seat to greet Bianca,l who reacted to her greeting with a slap.
The former Anambra First Lady added that all she did was to approach Mrs Ojukwu for their usual friendly banter only to be slapped and pushed by the widow of Dim Ojukwu.
Mrs Obiano further expressed concerns over what brought about “so much anger and hate” that would cause a former diplomat to be unable to “manage herself in public”.
The immediate past governor’s wife stated that she didn’t bother returning the slap, adding that she walked away in confusion after the incident occurred.
Earlier, Bianca had said she slapped Mrs Obiano after the former governor’s wife “verbally attacked me with her voice raised, taunting me and asking me what I was there to do and using unprintable vile languag.”
The former Nigerian ambassador to Spain said that she had attempted to ignore the immediate pastj governor’s wife despite the use of vulgar language directed at her.
