Yes you heard me crystal clear, sin sends nobody to hell. This mindset of sin being a channel through which one goes to hell or incures the wrath of God is flawed. Sin is missing the mark? yes. It is derailing from the circle of godliness into the wide bush of ungodliness? Yes .

It is turning ones back to Godly lifestyle, basking instead in the euphoria of rot and disgusting deeds? Yes.

Nobody goes to hell or attracts the sledge hammer of God’s wrath by sinning? Yes, if not we would all have been proximate potential candidates of hell if it were that way.

At the Garden of Eden what chased Adam and Eve from the garden into the world of curse and frustration wasn’t essentially the eaten of the forbidden fruit.

What took away the crown from Saul wasn’t primarily the sparing of sheep, goats and King Agag from the Amalakites.

David didn’t incure the wrath of Nathan because he slept with Bathsheba and killed uriah the husband. Anianias and Sapphira were not smitten by the Holy Spirit because the kept part of the proceed of the land they willingly sold.

SIN( Saying Intial No) to God’s ways is what we are all guilty of. We often see ourselves saying no to God’s ways, it is our nature, like the prodigal son, our senses come back , retracing our steps to God’s ways, an option to be grabbed by all that desire to make heaven.

No father writes off a child immediately because the child disobeys. No! He could only do such if the child plays arrogance, unyielding to correction and obviously tries either to justify, rationalise such with the intent and purpose to paint themselves right and perfect still carrying baggage of sin as if it means nothing.

Imagine what would have happened to Adam and Eve if at the point of God confronting them, the owned up and apologised. Imagine too what would have been the situation of Annanis and Saphira if they had owned up to their deceit without stretching their lies. What about Saul? What do you think would have happened to his crown if he immediately apologised when Samuel confronted him for spearing some goats and sheep? In all these they tried to justify and rationalise their sin

Judas didn’t go to hell because he betrayed Jesus. No! He went to hell because of self unforgiving.

I am not in anyway encouraging sin. Not at all, sin isn’t a death sentence, what is , is ones indispositon to say sorry and repent.

Sin isn’t something to romance with, it has the power to reduce the energy power and prospect opportunities, though not enough to send one to hell except in obstinacy and recalcitrancy. Avoid it if you can but once sliped into it by mistake never rationalise over it and bask in it.

Sadly many of us find ourselves in this kind of circle, circling around until hell becomes a destination.

Use this lent to break out of this circle of sin rationalisation, sin argumentative rhetoric, and sin watering approach making it look normal. The effect it leaves on one is the kind of effect gradual increasing of cold water to warm water and to hot water does to a toad. It gets killed without knowing it. Becareful!
