Speaking at a church thanksgiving service to mark his 72nd birthday anniversary in Gboko, Benue State, Akume stressed that national development was a collective responsibility requiring synergy from federal, state, and local governments.

Akume urged state and local governments to ensure transparency and judicious use of federal allocations, focusing on projects that benefit grassroots communities.

He also called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in its drive towards infrastructure revolution across the country.

His commitment to public service has earned him recognition, with notable figures like former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, praising his dedication and leadership.

Bishop Isaac Dugu of the Diocese of Katsina-Ala urged prominent sons and daughters of Benue to put aside their differences and work together for the state’s development, describing Akume’s birthday as a turning point for Benue State and Nigeria.

Akume’s 72nd birthday was marked with a thanksgiving service attended by family, friends, and well-wishers.

The event also drew attention to his recent marriage to Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh.
