Senator Urhoghide berates indicted MDAs in Auditor General’s Report of 2015

Chairman, Senate Public Accounts Committee Senator Matthew Urhoghide has berated the flimsy excuses given by the MDAs for their inabilities to make appearance at the public hearings

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday Urhoghide read a riot act to heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government that were queried in the Auditor General’s Report of 2015 and who were invited by the Senate Committee on Public Accounts to respond to the queries but refused to put up appearance.

Other members of the committee agreed with the Chairman and recommended drastic action against the heads and accounting officers indicted MDAs.

The Senate Public Accounts Committee, headed by Senator Matthew Urhoghide, for the past months, has been holding public hearings to have indicted MDAs answer queries in the Auditor General’s report of 2015 on the public expenditure of their MDAs.
