A lively debate has erupted on social media after Senator Ned Nwoko shared photos of the newly completed mini-stadium in Issele-Uku, Delta State, describing it as a milestone for youth development and community upliftment.
In a post on X, Nwoko wrote that the facility represents “collective progress in Delta North,” noting it would “inspire our youths, promote healthy competition, and strengthen community spirit.”
The senator highlighted features of the project, including a standard football pitch, multi-sports arena, pavilions, and dressing rooms. “Every project is about impact,” he added, saying the stadium would help nurture future leaders and athletes.
However, what began as a development announcement quickly veered into controversy, as mixed reactions flooded the comment section — ranging from praise to criticism, and even resurfaced allegations surrounding his ongoing family dispute.
Some users applauded the project and credited Nwoko for his efforts.
@KingEmi4 wrote, “That stadium isn’t just concrete and grass, it’s a blueprint for pride and possibility in Delta North.”
@Naijacare added, “Keep going Senator. We love you.”
But others questioned the quality and readiness of the facility.
@TerryUdogu43535 urged broader development, saying, “Please prioritize projects like completing the Okpai Power Plant for Ndokwa East.”
@Drealussy criticized the pitch design: “A mini pitch directly on concrete increases injury risk. Do not manage resources.”
@Danicarmi2002 echoed quality concerns: “This is not up to some standard 5-a-side pitches owned by private individuals in Lagos.”
Some accused the senator of rushing the project for optics.
@Collynzo1 commented, “It doesn’t look completed. Why the hurry?”
Several users also brought up Nwoko’s recent family drama, mixing politics with personal controversy.
@RealAbdulKobi asked, “Is it true you arrested Regina’s sibling? The public deserves transparency.”
@best_babe1 added, “Go and release Regina’s family from prison.”
Others took a more sarcastic tone, blending humour with criticism.
@victorotiii wrote, “God punish all Nigerian politicians… especially the ones in power now.”
@viytuwz quipped, “So which position Regina go play here — striker or goalkeeper?”
Despite the heated exchanges, some maintained a neutral or thank-you tone.
@Ute_Ogbeje said, “We from Delta North are proud of you… please give us Anioma State.”
While the mini-stadium has drawn commendation from supporters, the comments show that public perception remains divided — with many tying development projects to wider expectations of governance, accountability, and transparency.
Senator Nwoko had not responded to the criticisms as of press time.
