There are strong indications that the rift between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio may have been resolved, following an invitation to the Senate leadership and colleagues for a series of project inaugurations in Kogi State.
During Thursday’s plenary session, Senator Akpabio read aloud the invitation, which was personally signed by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The letter invites colleagues to Ihima, Kogi State, on Sunday for the inauguration of constituency projects marking her second year in office.
The letter specified that the meeting point for the event would be her residence at Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, Kogi State.
Senators travelling by air are expected to land at the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding to the venue by road.
The Senate President congratulated Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan in advance after reading her letter, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”

This development comes months after both lawmakers clashed over the reallocation of seats in the Senate chamber, a disagreement that led to Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension.
Since her reinstatement on September 24, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has resumed active participation in plenary sessions and maintained cordial relations with the Senate leadership.
Her latest invitation is being interpreted as a sign that the once-tense relationship between the two senators has been fully restored.
