It was a major boost for the Labour Party at the weekend in Cross River state as the All Progressives Congress, APC heavyweight in Cross River state, Senator M. T. Mbu jr dumped the party and declared for the Labour Party.
Senator Mbu who was the unifier-in-Chief for the crisis-ridden APC in the state and who was the architect of Governor Ben Ayade leaving PDP for APC said he was now “Obidient”.
Obi-Datti media quoted Senator Mbu to have said that he was joining the Obidient movement because it was becoming very obvious that they were the only ones who could restore the much-needed peace, unity, and progress In Nigeria.
A statement by Diran Onifade, Head, Media, ObiDatti Presidential Campaign Council, said that the Senator also believed that the Obidatti team was the only one that could restore a bright future for the Nigerian youths who were indeed the future 9n which the Nation rested.
The statement said that Senator Mbu was a big addition to the growing Obiidient movement because he had a huge following, and members of his APC cadre were likely to come with him into the Obidient fold.
It saidvObi-Datti therefore welcomed “the distinguished Senator” and called on all other lovers of a new Nigeria to join in taking back Nigeria for the much-needed rebuilding.
