Senator George Akume is undoubtedly the fountain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state due to his immense contributions to the beginning, growth and development of the party in Benue and the north central region. Akume was the chief architect of the party from ACN to the current APC, which has waxed stronger than the PDP that held sway then.

With his exceptional political intelligence and comprehension, he has strategically positioned the party as a formidable force in the state. All honest party members can appreciate the significant role played by Senator Akume in nurturing the APC into the dominant political party it has become in Benue state, for which reason President Tinubu has acknowledged in a resounding manner by appointing him the SGF to help in steering the affairs of our great country.
