The Senate has endorsed the request of President Bola Tinubu for the proclamation of emergency rule in Rivers state.
The decision was taken after a closed-door session by the lawmakers in Abuja on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The Upper Chamber of the National Assembly consummated the approval of the proclamation through voice vote.
No Senator, just as it happened earlier in the House of Representatives, called for division so that individual voting could be done and the exact number of lawmakers for and against the proclamation could be ascertained.
