Mr. Segun Shonubi has been conferred with the prestigious 2025 Outstanding Resource Person Award by the Lagos Country Club.
The award was presented during the Club’s 2026 New Year Party by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, who represented the Special Guest of Honour, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
In his citation, the President of the Club, Mr. Seyi Adewunmi, noted that Mr. Shonubi was singled out for the honuor for exemplifying the institution’s core values through his unwavering dedication and selfless service, qualities that fundamentally advance the ideals of the Lagos Country Club.
As the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Shonubi has been a visionary leader.
He led the Committee to revive the Lagos Country Club Business Forum.
After a ten-year hiatus, the Committee successfully repositioned the Forum as a premier platform for thought leaders to collaborate on strategies for national growth and economic stability.
Under his leadership, the Committee has also initiated high-level strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including political leaders, senior media executives, and captains of industry.
A seasoned professional with an illustrious career, Mr. Shonubi previously served as the Director of Membership Services and subsequently retired as the Director of Capacity Building, Certification, and Standards at The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
He brings his vast expertise to FIC Professionals Network Limited as an Executive Director, where he plays a pivotal role in driving Nigeria’s financial inclusion ecosystem.
Mr. Shonubi is happily married to Hon. Justice Adenike Shonubi of the Lagos State High Court.
