A former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has condoled with the publisher of THE CONCLAVE [an online newspaper] on the death of his mother, Aishetu Ojeifo.
Madam Aishetu died in a brief illness on October 12, 2024 at her residence in Owo, two moths to her 92nd birthday on December 12, 2024.
Chief Oni, while describing the passing of Madam Aishetu as an opportunity to celebrate her life and not to mourn, prayed that the Almighty God would grant the Ojeifo family the fortitude to bear the loss of their matriarch and also that God would rest her soul peacefully in His Bosom.
A former member of the House of Representatives and, currently, Special Adviser (media) to the President of the Senate of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Hon Eseme Eyiboh described Madam Aishetu as a meteoric matriarch of the Ojeifo dynasty.
A former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct Grassroots Democratic Movement (GDM) and one-time Chief of Staff to a former Governor of Delta State, Dr Festus Okubor encouraged the Ojeifo family to be grateful to God for a life that was well lived in the service of God and man.
A director in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs Elizabeth Egharevba in a condolence message sent to THE CONCLAVE publisher wrote: “Greeting to our erstwhile Special Assistant (Media). This is to commiserate with you over the demise of your mother, Madam Aishetu Ojeifo. I believe you mother lived a fulfilled life and must have contributed her bit to society having raised an accomplished gentleman like you. May her soil rest in peace. Amen.”
Others who sent in condolence messages included former Editor of THISDAY on Sunday, former Commissioner in Ogun State and Special Adviser (Media) to a former Senate President, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, a former Bureau Editor of THE GUARDIAN newspaper, Mr Camillus Eboh; a former Regional Editor (North) of Vanguard newspaper and one-time Chief Press Secretary to the late ex-governor of Oyo State, Lam Adesina, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, former Labour Editor of Vanguard newspaper, Mrs Funmi Komolafe; Veteran journalist and editor at AIT, Mr Adebayo Bodurin; Publisher of THEWILL newspaper, Mr Austyn Ogannah; and, Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF’s) Director of Communications, Dr Ademola Olajire.
Meanwhile, the publisher and editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE, Mr Ojeifo, has announced on behalf of the Ojeifo family a four-day funeral rites for their matriarch, beginning with a wake at her residence in Owo, Ondo State, on Thursday, November 21, 2024; interment ceremonies at her residence in Agbede, Edo State on Friday, November 22, 2024; a celebration of her life and times on Saturday, November 23, 2024 in Owo, where she lived all of her married life; and a thanksgiving service on Sunday, November 24 in Owo.
