A former Ekiti State governor and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Segun Oni, has described the death of the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Funmi Afuye, as a devastating and colossal loss to Ekiti people.
Oni, in a press release issued by his media aide, Jackson Adebayo, on Thursday, in Ado Ekiti, said that Afuye belonged to the group of Omoluabi Ekiti, a very humble and an astute politician who had served Ekiti meritoriously in various political positions and as Speaker.
He added that he had left behind a good legacy.
The former governor therefore expressed his condolences to the deceased’s wife, children, family members, members of the state assembly, the government and all Ekiti people, praying that God would comfort all.
