A Dei-dei Grade I Area Court sentenced a 29-year-old security guard, Kabiru Ibrahim to 27 months imprisonment for stealing 30 litres of diesel.

Ibrahim was convicted and sentenced after pleading guilty to criminal breach of trust and theft.

The Judge, Mr Saminu Suleiman gave him an option to pay a fine of N60, 000 and warned him to desist from committing crimes and be of good behaviour.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Chinedu Ogada told the court that Ibrahim was employed by MTN as a security guard to safe guard it’s mast located at Chikakore, Byazhin, Abuja.

Ogada said that while Ibrahim was on duty, he stole 30 litres of diesel oil valued N24, 840.
