Baltasar Engonga, the director-general of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), has been fired due to his alleged involvement in a sexcapades scandal that has shocked the world.

Engonga was dismissed by Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Mbasogo, according to Real Equatorial Guinea, for “irregularities committed in the exercise of his functions, as well as inappropriate family and social conduct for the performance of public functions, as stated in Decree number 118/2024, dated November 4.”

Baltasar Engonga Edjoo, the current president of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), is Engonga’s father.

As part of an investigation into suspected fraud, officials searched the anti-graft boss’s house and office and found over 400 intimate films that allegedly showed him with several women. This has led to a sex scandal in the Central African country.

Tapes showing Engonga allegedly having sex with his brother’s wife, his cousin, the president of Equatorial Guinea’s sister, the director general of police’s wife, and roughly 20 ministerial wives were among the findings.

Allegedly with participants’ consent, the now-viral recordings were shot in his workplace, hotels, and restrooms.

All officials accused of having sex in ministry offices were suspended by the administration, with the government also announcing plans to install surveillance cameras in all government offices.
