A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Samson Osagie, Ph.D, has bared his mind on the presidential reception into the All Progressives Congress, APC, accorded a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK).
Osagie, who was a former chief whip in the House, issued a riposte to the APC action.
Read him: “When we mouthed change in the build up to 2015 elections in which many of us were front runners, we never in our wildest imaginations thought that someday in that almagam of political forces we could be shoved aside in pursuit of the FFK’s of this world, and have them canonized as political demigods.
“Today, the reality is that many of those who belled the cart against the Goodluck Ebele Jinathan, GEJ, administration both from within and outside the National Assembly are no longer worthy of recognition for their past roles. Even GEJ is being wooed to take the front seat in the party! WONDERFUL
“Instead, an FFK who spent 9 months in the APC and jetted out to launch a most vitriolic attack on the party and its presidential candidate, GMB( as he then was) is the cynosure of all the eyes of the powers that be in the party.
“Now what change have we brought? To reward bad political behavior and punish political faithfulness? To only think of political power without defining ideological boundaries that ought to set our party apart as truly progressives? To abandon salient electoral promises like (political) restructuring and keep mute on the non-functioning federal system?
“Rails, Airports, Roads, etc., construction are good, but what are governance and party administration without any impact on its members psyche and emotional well being?
“Beyond winning elections using the good, the bad and the ugly, there is the legal and moral imperative to revolutionize (change) our social, economic and political behavior such that political infidelity doesn’t become a norm rather than the exception.
“If we are going to continue to harvest those with nuisance values like the man under reference, I am afraid we might soon become a party of men with nuisance values. And I Am sure responsible ones among us don’t want that appellation.
“Let us promote good behavior and denounce bad conducts.”
