Former Minister of Housing and Urban Development Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, hours after his removal from the Federal Executive Council.
In a statement Tuesday night through his media aide Mark Chieshe, Dangiwa described his tenure as a “rare privilege” and accepted the President’s decision, pledging an orderly handover.
“I wish to sincerely thank Mr. President for the confidence he reposed in me to serve as Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development,” Dangiwa said. “It has been a rare privilege to contribute to the advancement of policies and programmes aimed at expanding access to affordable housing for Nigerians.”
He said the ministry, under Tinubu’s direction, repositioned housing as a driver of economic growth, job creation and social inclusion. He listed the rollout of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme, stronger public-private partnerships in housing delivery, and ongoing reforms in land administration and housing finance as key milestones.
Dangiwa also thanked colleagues in the FEC, stakeholders across the housing value chain, and ministry staff for their commitment. “Together, we laid strong foundations for a more structured and sustainable housing delivery system in Nigeria,” he said.
The former minister noted that investigations and projects already in motion would continue, and assured a “smooth, orderly transition” in line with the President’s directive. He reaffirmed support for the ministry’s success and the broader goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dangiwa was among ministers affected in the latest cabinet shake-up announced Monday. The Presidency has yet to name his replacement.
