Roost Foundation, Delta government partner to tackle human trafficking

Roost Foundation and Delta State government have agreed to partner in tackling the problem of human trafficking in the state.

The partnership will see the Foundation working with the state taskforce on human trafficking in sensitizing Deltans on the dangers of human trafficking.

This was disclosed when the secretary to the Delta State government, Chief Patrick Ukah received in audience the ex-Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and Executive Chairman, Roost Foundation, Dame Julie Okah-Donli and members of the state taskforce on human trafficking at Asaba on Monday in his office.

The Foundation, an initiative of Okah–Donli, who is also the Chair person of the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking, is established to join the fight against human trafficking, sexual/gender and domestic–based violence.

The Foundation is also equipped to provide advocacy and awareness creation, critical humanitarian, pro bono (free) legal and financial support as well as vital interventions for victims of human traffcking, sexual and gender based violence.
