Chief Rogers Nwoke has been elected as the President of the Dozie Owerri Abuja Branch, an elite group of Owerri natives living in the nation’s capital.

Nwoke won the election, which took place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, during the association’s monthly general meeting, following a transparent and competitive process.

Nwoke won the presidency with 21 votes.

The election came after the previous Executive Committee, led by Pastor Henry Chidi Opara, was disbanded, and a three-member Electoral Panel was appointed, chaired by Mr. Stanley Nkwazema and consisting of Mr. Chris Amadi and Dr. Mrs. Chioma Njoku.
