The members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have reaffirmed their determination to proceed with the impeachment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Nma Odu, over alleged gross misconduct.
The lawmakers made their position known during a press briefing held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Initially, 26 legislators unanimously supported the impeachment notice against the governor and his deputy. However, four members of the Assembly later withdrew their support for the proposed removal.
