There are close to 20 companies linked to flamboyant socialite, Aisha Achimugu, who’s cooling her heels in the detention facility of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Achimugu had yet to perfect her bail processes and conditions as of last Friday, May 2, 2025.
Her investigation by the EFCC is on account of the on-going searchlight on $250millon alleged fraud and money laundering levelled against her.
The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, according to a report by National Waves online newspaper, was under pressure to doctor records of the 20 companies linked to Mrs Achimugu.
The 20 companies registered with the CAC are reportedly sharing common addresses.

They companies were allegedly used to commit fraud and other crimes including the diversion of $250 million tagged “2027 election funds” kept under her care by a governor.
The money said to be donations from corporate and highly-placed individuals for “2027 elections projects”, were allegedly kept in the Governor’s care who, in turn, gave the same to Achimugu for safekeeping in a special account.
Achimugu is alleged to have split the funds in several accounts belonging to her and allegedly misappropriated the same.
The inability of the Governor to account for the funds when asked and linking Achimugu as the custodian of the huge sums, prompted investigations when the $250 million was not traceable to the primary account it was lodged.
CAC insiders said some persons apparently working for Achimugu made contact with the Commission, requesting help to remove her from directorship of some of the 20 companies being investigated by the EFCC.
“Some persons, some of them lawyers, have reached out to us requesting the possibility of changing the directorship or ownership of companies registered here that are linked to Mrs. Achimugu,” the online newspaper quoted a source in CAC to have said.
The implication is that should any changes be made, Achimugu might claim in court that she knew nothing nor was she involved with any of the companies being investigated.
