His Royal Highness Ohinoyi, Dr Ado Ibrahim, Atta Ebira, said he was not informed before hand of the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari to Kogi state.
He stated this in a reply to a query issued him by Kogi state government for making himself unavailable to receive President Buhari who was in the state to inaugurate some projects.
In the reply to the query addressed to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, dated January 6, 2023, and signed by the Atta Ebira himself, he stated that there was no official letter informing him of President Buhari’s visit to the state on December 29, 2022.
He said the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair only informed him a day before the visit (Dec.28) and was asked to stay back in his palace because the President would be coming to pay him a visit.
He said he was never told a new palace outside the one he was staying would be inaugurated in Okene.
He started further that he had just finished preparation to receive the President that morning when a bomb exploded at rear gate to his palace.
He said in the letter that he was attending to the casualties when he learnt that the President had finished the inauguration and left for Lokoja.
