Relief as Nigeria records 341 new coronavirus cases

Nigeria on Saturday, recorded 341 coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, indicating that the second wave of the pandemic might be abating.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this know in an update via its official twitter handle @NCDCgov.

It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 155,417 confirmed, out of which 133,256 had been discharged.

According to the health agency, a total of 1,905 deaths had been recorded in Nigeria since March 2020.

Of the 341 new cases, 96 came from Lagos, followed by Rivers with 41, Kaduna-33, Edo-21, Osun-20, Akwa Ibom-17, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) -17.

The remaining cases were recorded from Ondo-15, Gombe-11, Kano-11, Imo-10, Ekiti-9, Kebbi-9, Kwara-8, Oyo-8, Borno-6, Enugu-3, Plateau-3, Delta-1, Niger-1, and Ogun-1, the NCDC said.
