Nollywood star Regina Daniels has broken her silence amid the swirling controversy surrounding her marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, insisting that her decision to marry him years ago was born out of love not money.
In an emotional video that surfaced online, the actress fought back tears as she addressed the wave of online criticism directed at both her and her mother. The clip, which has now gone viral, comes amid Regina Daniels’ recent claims of domestic abuse in her marriage and Ned Nwoko’s counter-allegations that she struggles with drug addiction and needs rehabilitation.
Regina Daniel pleaded with Nigerians to stop dragging her family into her marriage troubles, saying she alone is responsible for her decisions. “Whatever happens between me and Ned is my cross to bear,” she said. “Please leave my family out of it.”
The actress had earlier accused Nwoko of ordering the arrest of her siblings after she allegedly refused to return to him. According to her, her brother and sister were being held “hostage” until she agreed to reconcile with the senator.
In the new video, Regina pointedly referred to Ned Nwoko as her “ex-husband” and vowed to fight for custody of her children. “I will raise my kids with or without his support,” she declared.
Since her marriage to the older businessman in 2019, Regina Daniel has remained one of the most talked-about figures in Nollywood. Despite years of criticism over the age gap and lifestyle differences, she maintained that her relationship with Ned was never about financial gain.
“I loved him. I married him because I wanted to, not because of his money,” she said.
