[Press Release] Our attention had been drawn to a narrative being peddled by faceless characters about a purported plan by the immediate past member representing Oredo Federal Constituency Rt. Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama to decamp to the All Progressives Congress tomorrow, the 12th of April, 2024.
While such narratives in normal circumstances do not deserve any attention, It is necessary in this instance to address it to ensure our teeming and loyal Edo South supporters are not misled by mischief makers whose intention in the last three years has always been to cause disunity in the party.
We have engaged the respected former representative and leader, and we can assure all our members that there is no iota of truth in such a narrative of him defecting to the APC on Friday, 12th April 2024.
Rt. Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama remains a loyal party member who has contributed greatly to the fortunes and growth of the party in not just the Senatorial District but across the state since its founding in 1998.
Let us state that while every party member has a right to decide what political steps they choose to take, we advise these group of troublemakers to desist from peddling falsehoods that have the potentials to cause disaffection and disunity within our membership.
It is expected that serious minded people should be focused now on plans and strategies on how to win the forthcoming elections. Rather, they are busy peddling rumors that can cause them more problems in the elections.
Remember, Rt.Hon Ogbeide-Ihama is not on the ballot, so such characters should be very careful with a leader like him with large followership and how much elections can be swayed in critical areas of the state.
Hon. Anthony Ihimi. JPM
Former PDP Ag. State Secretary.
Edo South Senatorial District Secretary.
