Rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips, shed more light on his travails in a new record released in October.
The record saw the rapper praying against untimely death.
The record entitled “Die Young” from his album, ‘ “Superhero Adugbo” (The Memoir)’, saw the rapper express fears of dying young and only gain fame after death.
A part of the lyrics goes thus, “So I hope that I will get my flowers before I lose my powers and everything that makes me a human (being)
“Yes, I’m free; I just wanna live and express how I feel. I don’t wanna leave (I don’t wanna die young). Breathe, make I breathe.
“I just wanna live. I dey practise what I preach, I don’t wanna leave. Oluwa jowo make I no die before my time.”
Oladips hit the spotlight after signing a record deal with rapper Remilekun Khalid Safaru, aka Reminisce’s Les Roses Rouge (LRR)/Edge Record.
Upon his exit from LRR/Edge Records, the rapper, aged 28, founded his label, ‘Dipsciples Music.’
His sudden death was announced on Wednesday. It came on the heels of that of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (3 January 1996 – 12 September 2023), known professionally as MohBad.
Mohbad was a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos.
He was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records and left the label in 2022. He was best known for his hit songs “Ponmo,” “Peace,” “Beast and Peace,” “Sorry”, “Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (You Will Always Be Remembered) with Rexxie, which was nominated three times for The Headies awards
On 18 September 2023, Mohbad ranked number 1 on TurnTable’s Official Artiste.
Oladips died at the age of 28 while Mohbad was 27 years when he answered the final call.
