As the global Muslim Ummahs complete Ramadan 1444H/2023, the government of Osun State, under the leadership of Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, has also concluded its Ramadan activities with a grand finale on Wednesday, marked by a heartwarming gesture from the state government.
The various programmes initiated by the state government at the beginning of the holy month featured many knowledgeable scholars within the state who gave inspiring sermons during the fasting period.
The state-sponsored programme tagged “Al_Bur’haan” on the network of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) aimed to inform, educate, and enlighten followers of the programme.
Muslim faithful were encouraged to answer questions related to their religion, and in turn, receive gift rewards that ranged from cash prizes, different home appliances, electronic gadgets, food items, and other heartwarming prizes.
At the grand finale of the program, Hon Teslim Igbalaye, the Secretary to the State Government, who chaired the event, praised Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke for his immeasurable attention and support to the Muslim Ummahs in the state during the Ramadan period.
He expressed his gratitude for the Governor’s approval to organize the Al_Bur’haan programme on the network of the OSBC, which brought governance down to the grassroots and allowed many people to feel the impact of good governance.
A total of 171 callers from Osun State and neighboring states won various consumable items since the commencement of the program, and the SSG promised that the program would be a regular feature throughout Governor Adeleke’s tenure in office, with more heartwarming prizes in subsequent editions.
During the Ramadan period, Governor Adeleke hosted different Islamic scholars and dignitaries in their various fields for Iftar at his private residence.
These included the league of Imams & Alfas of Osun State, Monarchs, Muslims in the academics drawn from all tertiary institutions across the State, judicial officers, top judiciary staff, political functionaries, and others. Each Iftar program featured lectures by renowned Islamic scholars and clerics.
Other activities during the period included a government-sponsored Ramadan Lecture Program hosted at the Government House, which featured a renowned Islamic Scholar and an erudite Professor of Islamic Studies from the Premier University of Ibadan. Over 100 Islamic organizations, both men and women, were invited to participate.
At the closing ceremony of the state-sponsored Ramadan Sahuur Program called “Al-Burhaan,” the SSG thanked the members of the Osun State Ramadan Programme Planning Committee and the Management of the OSBC for their efforts towards the success of the program. He charged the people of the state and winners of prizes to continue praying for the success of the current administration in the state towards the actualization of its lofty policies and programmes for Osun State.
