Kalepadal police on Monday, January 12, 2026, detained two Nigerian nationals for allegedly bludgeoning their 40-year-old friend to death.
The victim, also a Nigerian national, was residing in Phursungi. On Sunday, the victim and the ac cused had gathered at the house of a Nigerian woman for a party.
During the party, an altercation broke out between them over a woman. In the early hours of Monday, as the victim was leaving the flat, the accused allegedly followed him and bludgeoned him to death in the building’s parking lot, police said.
Anil Yadav (25) died after he came under the wheels of a reversing mixer truck at a construction site on the Pashan-Baner link road.
The accident happened on Jan 9 around 2.45pm. The Baner police have registered a case of causing death by negligence against the man driving the truck. [Times of India]
