Civil servants and residents in Kebbi State will stay home Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as Governor Nasir Idris declares a one-day public holiday to mark Islamic New Year 1448 AH.

The announcement was made Monday by Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Hajiya Hafsat Tune in Birnin Kebbi.

-‘Is Tuesday June 16 a public holiday in Kebbi?-

Yes. All government offices across Kebbi will remain closed Tuesday. Work resumes Wednesday, June 17.

“This is to inform the general public and civil servants that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, has approved Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as a work-free day,” the statement said.
