The Police Service Commission (PSC) has denied allegations of delay in promoting inspectors who participated in the 2025 Departmental Selection Board (DSB) exercise.

In a statement by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the PSC attributed the delay to the rigorous due diligence process aimed at ensuring integrity and equity in the promotion exercise.

The PSC explained that the promotion process for inspectors involves a larger cohort and additional layers of verification, including background checks and performance audits, which may take longer than promotions for senior officers.

The commission also noted that all officers who participated in the 2025 DSB exercise have been duly informed about the status of their evaluations through official channels.

The PSC urged officers to utilise established grievance procedures rather than relying on media outlets for resolution.

The commission also invited members of the public and officers to contact the PSC Public Affairs Section or visit its official website for accurate information.

The PSC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, fairness, and merit-based promotions within the Nigeria Police Force.

The commission assured stakeholders that it will continue to uphold the welfare and career progression of all NPF personnel without favoritism.

The PSC’s response highlights the importance of due process and rigorous verification in the promotion exercise.

The commission’s commitment to transparency and fairness is evident in its efforts to ensure that all officers are treated equally and without bias.

The PSC’s assurance that promotions will be made without undue delay is a welcome development for officers who have been waiting for their promotions.
