A former Minister of External Affairs, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi, has denied writing any petition urging President Muhammadu Buhari to put the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu under house arrest.
It was widely reported by a section of the media, that the former Minister urged President Buhari to conduct post-mortem investigation and put on trial those directly responsible an incited and/or sponsored verbal and physical attacks against the Igbos during the general rlections.
Prof Akinyemi said that he was never a party to such petition, saying it must have been the handiwork of the mischievous agents of distabilization in the country.
He therefore urged members of the public and his associates to disregard the antics of enemies of progress.
