The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by its Chairman, Mr Festus Alenkhe, has been lauded for the innovative drives to reposition the union by Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, Minister of State for budget and National Planning.

The goodwill message to the Edo NUJ’s leadership was conveyed by Mr Tony Erha, who represented Prince Agba, as he handed a cash donation to the body, at the secretariat of the union, located in the GRA district of Benin, the state capital.

While handing over the donation to support the ongoing renovation work of the union’s secretariat complex to Mr Alenkhe, Erha said that Prince Agba, being an innovative person, was very impressed with the high level of physical improvement going on in the Edo NUJ centre, as well as the other moves to elevate the union and its journalist members, towards the rapid attainment of their watchdog principle and role, which the union and journalists stand for.

Prince Agba’s message, according to Erha also centred on Alenkhe’s worthy example, which if emulated was capable of assisting journalists in the country to carry out their duties.
