The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator-elect in Edo Central Senatorial District, Monday Okpebholo (aka) Akpakomiza, has congratulated His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was declared the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by INEC in the early hours of Wednesday,1st of March, 2023, as the winner of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

Reacting to the declaration of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, Akpakomiza said: “I congratulate His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect and the Vice President-elect, His Excellency, Kassim Shettima on their well-deserved victory.”

According to Akpakomiza: “This victory will bring stability and sense of political balance to the people of the geopolitical divide between the North and South in our nation. It is therefore, a victory for justice, fairness, equity, and essentially it’s a victory for democracy.”

He continued: “We have seen how the electoral voting map or pattern shifted in one cycle of an election in our nation. The voting demographics shown that, the people of Nigeria voted along their convictions, and not on the basis of ethnicity, religion nor financial inducement. Therefore, it is clear that, the election was indeed a reflection of the will of the majority of Nigerians.

“It is upon the forgoing premise, that, I wish to salute Nigerians who voted for other presidential candidates, especially the Obidients, for their contribution towards the growth and development of democracy in Nigeria. The election is over and a winner has been declared by the constitutionally empowered commission, INEC. I therefore urge all Nigerians to close ranks and come together to build a better and stronger nation with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The President-elect, H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is reputed for galvanizing the best brains and characters across the length and breadth of Nigeria in the formulation of people-centric government policies. I have no doubt, that, his administration will be driven by ideas that will tackle our current challenges and renew our hope for a Nigeria of shared prosperity.”

Akpakomiza concluded by saying: “The good people of Edo Central Senatorial District have suffered too long from lack of infrastructural development, as a result of absence of the presence of Federal Government in the senatorial district. I look forward in having a good working relationship with the President-elect, so that, the suffering of the people of Esanland will be ameliorated.

“Once again, I congratulates Nigerians and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the victory well-deserved.”
