Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has called for peaceful conduct of the elections just as he prayed that the results would reflect the wishes of the electorate.

Senator Mark said, when he cast his vote along with his wife, Helen at Otukpo, ward one in Benue State, that a peaceful election was the desire of Nigerians to usher in a new administration without hinderance.

He hoped that the process would be free, fair, and credible so that all candidates could willingly accept the outcome of the elections.

According to him, “so far, the process has been smooth and orderly here in my ward. I hope the process is also seamless in other places.

“I anticipate an election that is free, fair, and credible and where losers would unconditionally congratulate the winners.”

Senator Mark commended the electoral umpire; the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the security operatives for the smooth conduct of the elections so far.
