Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has announced his intention to seek the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the primary election with a view to becoming the party’s standard bearer in the 2023 ekection.
The minister declared his 2023 presidential ambition at a thanksgiving service organised by the Rivers State chapter of the APC on Saturday.
The event was held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Rivers State.
“I stand before you today to declare my intention and submit my application to serve as your next President,” he said.
Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, became the sixth APC presidential aspirant to officially declare intention to run for the much-coveted seat ahead of the next year general election.
Other APC presidential hopefuls include Governors Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State), Yahaya Bello (Kogi State).
Others are former Governors Bola Tinubu (Lagos State), Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia State), Rochas Okorocha (Imo State).
