President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will confer the Distinguished Award for Excellence in Infrastructure Delivery and Sustainable Regional Growth on the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, on December 7, 2025.
The award is part of the 2025 Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS), organised by The Best Strategic (TBS) Media in partnership with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
In an official letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, OSGF, Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, the nomination was conveyed to Dr Ogbuku, stating that the recognition was in acknowledgement of his outstanding leadership in driving infrastructure delivery and sustainable development in the Niger Delta region.
The ceremony is scheduled to hold at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, with President Tinubu as the special guest of honour and presenter of the award.
The recognition comes 17 months after President Tinubu, on July 12, 2024, publicly commended the NDDC board and management during the Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit in Port Harcourt for their harmonious efforts in accelerating development in the oil-rich region.

Under Dr Ogbuku’s leadership, the NDDC has recorded visible progress in road construction, bridge rehabilitation, and provision of social amenities across the nine Niger Delta states, projects that have been widely cited as justification for the national honour.
