President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the family of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on the death of his second son, Pastor Dare Adeboye.
Pastor Dare Adeboye reportedly died in his sleep in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, a development that has ignited great grief on the family of the RCCG Worldwide.
Pastor Dare Adeboye’s bother, Leke intervened with some pacific words to sooth frayed nerves and grieving hearts.
Commenting on the sad incident in the social media, Leke wrote: “The righteous man perishes [at the hand of evil], and no one takes it to heart; Faithful and devout men are taken away, while no one understands that the righteous person is taken away [to be spared] from disaster and evil.”
The Bible passage quoted by Leke was taken from Isaiah 57:1. He did speak any further.
President Buhari condoled with Pastor Adeboye’s family over the demise.
Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement quoted Buhari to have prayed to God Almighty to grant the departed rest in His everlasting kingdom.
The statement read: “President Muhammadu Buhari extends deepest sympathies to the family of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on the passing of his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye.
“Also commiserating with members of the RCCG on the demise of the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35, President Buhari urges them to find comfort in the teachings of the Holy Scriptures that those who have chosen to serve God faithfully will see Him as He is in eternity.
“The President prays God Almighty to grant the departed rest in His everlasting kingdom and comfort grieving family, friends and associates.”
