The Cathedral of the United Baptist Church, Benin City, over the weekend, was host to a Christian burial ceremony of Pa Edwin Nosakhare Obasohan, an 86-year-old father of Amb. (Dr.) Kingsley Obasohan, Director General, European-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pastor Godson Obasohan and his other sibblings.

Apart from the interment, that was held at his residence in the Ikpoba Hill district, close to the famous Ramat Park in the Edo State capital, the Service of Songs, Social Dance and Thanksgivings of the elaborate burial, took place within the church, located on the Mission Road.
Bishop O. B. Osadolor, spiritual leader of the United Baptist Church, said that the late Pa Obasohan, was a fervent follower of Jesus Christ and doer of the Lord’s ordinances, who always wished for his burial rites to be dedicated to the Lord.
Bishop Osadolor extolled the virtues of Pa Obasohan as a dedicated Christian, whom he said was not only a pillar and long-serving member of the United Baptist Church, but also had brought his family members into the Christian faith and the church.

He urged the children of the late octogenarian to continue in the strong faith of their late father, tasking them to instill moral and valuable cultural disciplines in their children, as the late Pa Obasohan was also a very disciplined man.
The burial events attracted dignitaries from within and outside the country.
They included Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a former governorship candidate in the state, Nelly Ulomo Osagie Ndaguba, Executive Secretary, African Women Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) and Comrade Tony Erha, Director for Media and Public Strategy, Nigeria Entrepreneurs Forum (NEF), who represented Dr. Sidney Inegbedion, President of NEF.
