It was a beautiful Saturday [December 9, 2023] morning in Abuja. The harmattan wind cut through the haze, assuring and reassuring that rain was not going to be an issue.
The elements were all at peace with the celebrators who were at the centre of what could easily pass for a fiery-tale wedding, but this was not. It was not at all surreal. It was for real as Nana Bello and Deji Adeyanju discarded the duality of identity and morphed into one in the spirit marriage: for the two shall become one flesh, according to the Bible.
Whereas the exchange of marital vows took place earlier at Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre also in Abuja, the iconic International Conference Centre was where the shindig, the real action, was: it was celebrations galore. Amid pomp and ceremony, family members, friends, and well wishers identified with the couple, who literally shut down Abuja.
It was double celebrations for Deji Adeyanju whose wedding coincided with his birth anniversary.
The event was graced by prominent Nigerians from all walks of life.
The star-studded society party that followed.the formal reception had in attendance dignitaries, including Yele Sowore, Shehu Sani, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), CEO of Cubana Group, Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Kubana), Olisa Metuh, Frank Nweke, Liyel Imoke, Kassim Afegbua, Segun Showunmi and Dickson Akoh, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, Gbenga Aruleba, Seun Okinbaloye, Sufuyan Ojeifo (Publisher/Editor-in-chief, The CONCLAVE Magazine), Emmanuel Ajibulu (Publisher of Veracity Desk), owner of Ben TV Alistair Soyode.
Bashir Ahmad, former special assistant on digital communications to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, took to social media to congratulate the couple.
Nana had earlier shared pictures from their wedding registry — before the vow and reception.
She also described their union as “two hearts with one love” while praying for God’s love to be the “centre of our marriage.”
“Through God’s grace, our paths intertwined, and now we stand on the threshold of our forever. In these moments captured, I see His love shining through us, guiding us towards a lifetime of faith, hope, and love. With each step we take, I pray we always remember to keep Him at the centre of our marriage, trusting in His plan for us.
“I am blessed beyond measure to walk this journey with you, my love. Together, let us build a foundation of unwavering faith and a love that reflects His glory In The Name of Jesus Christ, Amen,” Nana wrote on Instagram.
The gathering which looked like a carnival showcased exquisite fashion moments, games and noteworthy highlights of the event was that there was enough to eat and drink to the delight of the guests who were present.
