Pomp and ceremony as Mustapha Oluwuyi, aka “Baba Wuyi” bows out of Public Service

Mr Mustapha Akangbe Oluwuyi: the celebrator who is being sent forth into a blissful world of retirement.

After a meritorious stewardship at the National Assembly during which he served in different standing and ad-hoc committees as a bureaucrat, Mr Mustapha Akangbe Oluwuyi, is set to leave the service bag and baggage.

He is retiring on account of age on December 31, 2022 and this is a positive development.

Baba Wuyi, as he is fondly referred to among his circle of friends, demonstrated love for country during his years of service. He was diligent in service and humble in his relationship with his bosses and subordinates alike.

Significantly, he maintained a clean slate in the management of public finance at the level of delivery on assignments that required direct funding. Not only were his hands not caught in the cookie jars of crime; he also did not deep his hands in the jars at all.

This is why he is leaving the service with his head held high.

It was also one of the reasons family members, friends, colleagues in his work place, bosses and subordinates converged on Senate Meeting Room 120 at the National Assembly on Monday, December 19, 2022 for a Send forth ceremony.

The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashiru, PhD.

Present on the occasion, among others, were Mr and Mrs Ayo Fawibe, Pastor (Mrs) Joke Momoh, Alhaji Lateef Ibrahim, and Mr Francis Ojo (ace photojournalist).
