Police rescue eight kidnapped victims in Kaduna

Police operatives from Operation Puff Adder II attached to Kaduna Command has rescued eight kidnapped victims and recovered AK 49 rifle along Galidamawa/Kidandan area of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Confirming the report, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Muhammed Jalige said the operatives
intercepted the bandits along with some of their victims.

He said on sighting the operatives, the bandits took to their heels abandoning their victims.

Jalige further stated that the victims included Bala Ibrahim, Ede Gloria F. of Ebonyi State, Japheth Sani M. of Kebbi State, Kingsley Edgbue of Delta State, Anthony Okafor of Anambra State, Gabriel Agu of Anambra State, Chibuzo Nwokorie of Anambra state and Ifeanyi Samuel of Enugu state.

Jalige said that the victims confirmed that they were abducted along Zaria –Kaduna expressway aboard luxury bus on Monday en-route to Delta state.

The police spokesperson said the victims were currently receiving medical attention in preparation for reunion with their respective families.

He noted that there was an ongoing hot pursuit of the fleeing bandits.

Jalige however added that the Kaduna Police Command under the leadership of CP UM Muri was in appreciation of the gesture and robust support rendered by the Inspector General of Police for deploying men and resources to complement the efforts of the Command in tackling banditry in the state.
