Police recover slain Bishop’s SUV in Onitsha, arrest two suspects

The Nigeria Police Force says it has recovered the Toyota Land Cruiser of slain Bishop Chinedu Clarence James and arrested two suspects allegedly linked to his killing.

Force spokesman DCP Anthony Placid said Anambra State Police Command acted on intelligence that the stolen SUV was being moved to Onitsha for sale. The operation was carried out on the directive of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu.

According to preliminary findings, one suspect contacted a cousin in Onitsha to find a buyer shortly after the bishop was abducted and killed in Delta State on May 12. Officers arrested the suspects at the point of sale and recovered the vehicle as evidence.

Police said efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the network allegedly involved in the abduction, murder and attempted sale of the SUV.
