The Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) has made significant progress in the aftermath of the tragic ambush in Ohoro Forest, Ughelli Delta State
Following the recent murder of police operatives and the theft of thirteen police rifles, the team has successfully recovered ten of the stolen weapons.
During a coordinated operation, FID-IRT operatives engaged the suspects in a gunfight, resulting in the neutralization of several bandits and the reclamation of the stolen arms, along with additional weapons used by the attackers.
In a related operation, the police have addressed the persistent kidnapping crisis on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Six members of a notorious kidnapping gang have been arrested and are currently assisting with ongoing investigations.
Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to reducing crime nationwide.
He emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and operational efficiency in ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens.
