The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovered dead body of a man inside a vehicle in and around the premises of the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed on Monday that the body, believed to be that of a labourer, was found in a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF in the National Assembly car park on Sunday morning.
Responding to a distress call about 9 a.m., officers from the National Assembly Division evacuated the body to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed that it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
The FCT Commissioner of Police has ordered a discreet probe into the incident.
