The Nigeria Police Force says it has directed an investigation into a complaint filed by a woman against a Lagos-based businessman over alleged theft, forgery, and threats.

According to the complaint submitted to the Special Fraud Unit, SFU, Ikoyi, the woman alleges that items including a vehicle, cash, and jewelry went missing from her Ikoyi residence after unauthorised access. She also alleges that documents relating to a property purchased in her name were fraudulently altered and re-registered.

The complainant says she discovered the alleged incident through CCTV footage and reported it to the SFU. She further alleges that she and her family have faced threats since the matter arose. She states she has left the country and is pursuing the case through legal representatives.

Police sources say the Commissioner of Police in charge of the SFU, Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, briefed Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu on the matter. The IGP reportedly directed that a discreet investigation be carried out to ensure the complainant receives due process.
