The Police on Tuesday, March 25, said they had arrested two suspected bombers in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Speaking during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Olugbenga Adepoju, said the suspects were arrested with four dynamites and other explosive items.
According to the Commissioner, the Rivers Police Command successfully stopped an attack planned by the suspects, who he said had four switches and detonating pads on them.
He said, “Over the past week, security agencies in Rivers State have prevented several crimes. One of these was an attempt to vandalise a pipeline, which led to the death of the vandals when they tried to detonate it. The quick response of security operatives on March 16, 2025, stopped the attack.”
He further stated that the police also raided a kidnappers’ den in the state and arrested eight suspects at the location.
