The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest and detention of Mr. Chike Ibezim for malicious publication, cyberbullying, and related offenses, which are still under investigation.
According to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja, this arrest and detention were conducted in strict adherence to legal procedures and respect for individual rights.
He noted that a court order was obtained after a thorough investigation established an indictment against Mr. Chike.
Chike has provided valuable information and is cooperating with the police during their ongoing investigation.
ACP Adejobi emphasized the seriousness with which the NPF takes allegations of malicious publication and cyberbullying due to their potential to harm individuals, institutions, and pose threats to national security and stability.
He highlighted the significant legal implications of such actions and stressed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to thorough investigations while upholding the rule of law.
Adejobi reiterated that the police’s actions were motivated by a dedication to uphold the law and protect the rights and well-being of all citizens.
